First and
second full IVF cycles should also have single embryo transfer if there are one
or more top-quality embryos,
Double
embryo transfer should only be considered if there are no top-quality embryos.

You'll be advised to wait around two weeks before having a pregnancy test, to see if the treatment has worked.
However, there are many cases of unsuccessful IVF treatment and you should try to prepare yourself for this possibility. If treatment doesn't work you may try again. Avoid rushing straight into it. It is advisable to join fertility support group or seek counselling.
Chances of
success
IVF success
rate depends on the age of the woman undergoing treatment, as well as the
cause of the infertility.
The younger you are, the more likely to have a successful pregnancy. IVF isn't usually recommended for women above the age of 42, because the chances of a successful pregnancy are thought to be too low. The chances of successful IVF decreases with age from 35 – 44.
Remember to
always maintain a healthy weight and avoiding alcohol, smoking and caffeine
during treatment to improve your chances of having a baby with IVF.
